Welcome to SORA

Social Reconstruction Action (SORA) is a women-led organization dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities in Bangladesh. We are committed to fostering grassroots socio-economic change through sustainable and inclusive development.

Founded by local graduates, SORA focuses on child education, human rights, youth and women empowerment, environmental justice, elder care, disability and community-led adaptation. Guided by a female President, SORA ensures that every initiative—from social welfare and human rights to environmental resilience—is inherently gender-sensitive and inclusive.

SORA was founded in 1990 and is officially recognized by the Government of Bangladesh through the following registrations:

  • Social Welfare Directorate: Registration No. Jashore 282/93 (Dated: 12.01.1993)
  • NGO Affairs Bureau: Registration No. 2575 (Dated: 20.05.2010)
